Fire Captain Chris Corum has spent his career bravely and selflessly fighting fires while also leading his team through the most challenging and perilous situations. With a dedication to duty and a passion for fire safety, Captain Corum has risen through the ranks to become a respected figure in the fire service, bringing both leadership and heroism to the forefront.

Captain Corum has been with the department for 4 years where he embarked on his firefighting journey as a probationary firefighter, embracing the grueling training, demanding physical challenges, and intense emotional demands of the profession. His unwavering determination, quick thinking, and exceptional physical conditioning made him an asset to this department. After 2 of service, he was promoted to the rank of Fire Captain, showing remarkable courage and commitment.

Captain Corum brings significance to the department with experience including serving as a transport AEMT with HEMSI (Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc.) and as an AE (Ambulance Emergency) technician. These roles have equipped him with a broad skill set, combining advanced medical knowledge with the tactical expertise needed for firefighting, showcasing his versatility in addressing various emergencies.

As a firefighter, Captain Corum has honed his skills in handling fire-related incidents, contributing to the comprehensive approach of the Hazel Green Volunteer Fire and Rescue. His leadership as a Captain within the department reflects a commitment to mentorship, teamwork, and ensuring that the highest standards of emergency response are maintained.

Captain Corum has received EMT of the year from the VFW as well as several letters of accommodations for his outstanding patient care.
